Luján authorities meet with Fundación Estrellas Amarillas for road safety

Authorities from the Municipality of Luján met with representatives from the Fundación Estrellas Amarillas to strengthen road safety regulations and prevention strategies. The meeting included Mayor Leonardo Boto, the President of the Honorable Deliberative Council Federico Vanin, and Councilwoman Adriana Aranda, President of the Urban Mobility Commission.

The discussions focused on the rising trend of traffic accidents both nationally and locally. Participants emphasized the need for coordinated public policies involving the state, social organizations, and the community to move beyond reactive measures and focus on proactive prevention and awareness.

Key initiatives discussed include the integration of local transit, transport, and health departments with volunteer firefighters to identify specific safety issues. Additionally, the impact of the municipal ‘Licencia Joven’ program was reviewed, which aims to provide training and awareness to young people obtaining their first driver's licenses to promote responsible behavior.
