Luka Božić to join Guangdong Southern Tigers in China
Croatian basketball player Luka Božić is set to join the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese CBA league. The move marks the first time in Božić's career that he will play in Asia.
Božić arrives in Dongguan following a strong season in the Spanish Endesa league with Granada, where he averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. During his tenure in Spain, he set a league record by recording a performance index rating of at least 27 in 12 consecutive games, surpassing a long-standing record held by Arvydas Sabonis.
While previously linked to European clubs such as Anadolu Efes and Baskonia, Božić has opted for the financially stable Guangdong Southern Tigers, owned by the Guangdong Winnerway Group. He will be coached by Serbian specialist Nenad Jakovljević.
