Luka Doncic, a Slovenian professional basketball player, has joined the Los Angeles Lakers following a significant trade from the Dallas Mavericks during the 2024–25 NBA season. Known for his high scoring averages, Doncic led the league in scoring during the 2023–24 and 2025–26 seasons.

In recent comments regarding potential playoff matchups, Miami Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo expressed a preference for the Minnesota Timberwolves' duo of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball over the Lakers' pairing of Doncic and Austin Reaves. Adebayo noted that while the Doncic-Reaves duo is strong, he anticipates the Edwards-Ball combination will be particularly exciting.
