Luka Modrić eyes future return to Real Madrid

Luka Modrić, the 41-year-old midfielder currently playing for AC Milan, has expressed a desire to eventually return to Real Madrid in a professional capacity once his playing career concludes. Describing the club as ‘my home’ and ‘the club of my life’, Modrić noted that while he is currently focused on his career in Italy, a return to Madrid would be a ‘dream’ provided he can find a role where he feels useful to the institution.

Recent reports indicate Modrić visited the Real Madrid training complex at Valdebebas to meet with former teammates. Meanwhile, AC Milan is reportedly preparing for a potential future without the veteran, with clubs eyeing Premier League talents like Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Brighton’s Yasin Ayari as potential successors in the midfield.

In a separate development, former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has announced plans to pursue a coaching career. Kroos intends to enroll in a specialized program for former professionals during the 2027/2028 season to obtain his UEFA A license, aiming to transition from his current work with a youth academy into professional management.
