Luka Modric receives standing ovation in Seville

Luka Modric received a standing ovation from fans at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium during a Nations League match between Spain and Croatia. The tribute honored the Croatian midfielder's career, particularly his thirteen seasons with Real Madrid, where he won 28 titles between 2012 and 2025.

The recognition began when his name was announced on the stadium scoreboard and intensified during his warm-up. A final, significant ovation occurred in the 80th minute when he entered the pitch as a substitute for Petar Sucic.

At 41 years old, Modric has surpassed 200 international appearances for Croatia, leading the team to a World Cup runner-up finish in 2018 and third place in 2022. He currently plays in Italy for AC Milan.
