Lučka Rakovec wins bronze at European Climbing Championships

Slovenian climber Lučka Rakovec secured a bronze medal in the lead discipline at the European Climbing Championships held in Laval, France. Rakovec reached a height of 51+ during the final, briefly holding the lead before being surpassed by Belgium’s Heloise Doumont and Britain’s Erin McNiece, who took gold.

Following the European Championships, the focus shifts to Slovenia for the 30th World Cup event in Koper. This milestone competition will feature two-time Olympic champion Janja Garnbret, who is set to defend her title. National team coach Gorazd Hren noted the growth of climbing in Slovenia, highlighting increased media attention and improved infrastructure as the sport continues to thrive domestically.
