Luka Sammalisto Nears Historic Italian F4 Title After Strong Mugello Weekend

Finnish driver Luka Sammalisto finished third in the first race and second in the final race at the Mugello round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship, moving to 55 points at the top of the standings. The results keep him on course to become the first Finn to win the series title, with the next round scheduled for Imola.

Earlier this year, Sammalisto’s planned move to the higher‑level Formula Regional series collapsed when a sponsorship‑dependent contract was terminated. Without a seat in the Regional series, he remained in F4, securing the recent podiums and preserving his championship challenge despite the setback.
