Fashion events highlight artisanal traditions and international solidarity

Various fashion events are highlighting regional craftsmanship and international solidarity. At the Argentina Fashion Week in Buenos Aires, the Mercado Artesanal de La Pampa showcased a collection of artisanal ponchos. These textiles, hand-woven on traditional looms and dyed with natural pigments by weavers from western La Pampa, were integrated into contemporary designs by Agustina Heick to demonstrate the modern relevance of traditional provincial techniques.

In Santo Domingo, the Trendy Fashion Week presented its ‘One Nation Only’ edition, uniting designers from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico. Led by CEO Jonathan Medero, the event served a dual purpose: showcasing Caribbean talent and supporting social causes. Contributions from the event are directed toward a Venezuelan foundation providing earthquake relief, as well as a Dominican foundation focused on breast cancer education.

Additionally, the Argentine fashion scene continues to feature editorial productions and high-profile debuts. Model Luka participated in a professional shoot in Puerto Madero featuring designs by Panni Margot, while content creator Martín Cirio made a notable runway debut at BAFWEEK for designer Luján Sáez, using the platform to promote his upcoming live performances.
