Luka Sučić linked to Newcastle United amid strong form

Luka Sučić, the 24-year-old Croatian midfielder playing for Real Sociedad, has drawn significant interest from Newcastle United. Reports indicate that the English club considered activating his €60 million release clause during the previous summer transfer window.

Sučić has enjoyed a strong start to the La Liga season, scoring two goals in his first six league appearances, including a notable strike against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu and a 90th-minute winner against Elche. He joined Real Sociedad from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2024 for approximately €10 million and is under contract until 2029.

A key factor in the potential move is the connection between Sučić and Newcastle's manager, Matthias Jaissle. Jaissle, who took charge of the English club in early August, previously coached Sučić during his development at Red Bull Salzburg between 2021 and 2023.
