Lukas Flatz appointed Dermatology Director at University Hospital Zurich

Lukas Flatz has been appointed as the new Clinical Director of Dermatology at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), effective March 1, 2027. He succeeds Thomas Kündig, who is retiring after more than 20 years of service at the institution.

In addition to his clinical leadership role, the University of Zurich has appointed Flatz as a regular professor of dermatology and venereology at the Faculty of Medicine. Flatz is a specialist in dermato-oncology and immunotherapy, with a research focus on adaptive immune responses and the side effects of immune-checkpoint inhibitors.

Flatz brings extensive international experience to the position, having worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States, as well as at various medical institutions in Bern, Lausanne, and St. Gallen. Since 2020, he has served as a professor and senior physician at the University Hospital Tübingen.
