Lukas Neumayer exits Erste Bank Open after qualifying debut

Austrian tennis player Lukas Neumayer was eliminated in the first round of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna following a loss to Jakub Mensik.

Neumayer, a 24-year-old from Salzburg, successfully qualified for the ATP-500 tournament by defeating Titouan Droguet in straight sets. However, in his main draw debut, he fell to the 16th seed, Mensik, with a score of 2-6, 2-6 in 62 minutes.

Reflecting on the match, Neumayer noted the significant difference in pace and the difficulty of competing against a top-tier opponent's serve. He stated that while he felt competitive from the baseline, he struggled to find opportunities during Mensik's service games. Jurij Rodionov remains the sole Austrian representative in the singles draw.
