Lukashenko denies potential potash deal with United States

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has disputed claims regarding a potential potash deal with the United States. While Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the U.S. is working on a “massive Deal” to purchase potash from Belarus at prices substantially lower than those paid to Canada, Lukashenko stated that the country lacks available supply.

Lukashenko told reporters that all Belarusian potash volumes have already been sold under existing contracts. He noted that even if the country intended to supply Western markets, they do not have the necessary volumes available. The potassium-rich salt is a critical component in fertilizer production.
