Lukavac takes control of Modrac filter station
The City of Lukavac is officially taking control of the ‘Modrac’ filter station and its associated water supply infrastructure. This move follows the completion of a key step in the process of acquiring control over the facility, which is vital for the city's water supply.
Mayor Edin Delić announced that a total of 3,145,898 KM will be paid for expropriated properties and objects. Of this amount, 3,083,541 KM was secured by the Tuzla Canton, while the City of Lukavac allocated 62,357 KM. This follows a previously signed agreement between the Government of Tuzla Canton and the City of Lukavac for a targeted capital transfer of 5.3 million KM, covering the purchase of the filter station, shallow wells, and other water infrastructure projects.
The acquisition is intended to provide the city with greater control over its water supply system and ensure long-term stability. Additionally, the funds from the expropriation will enter the bankruptcy estate, which is expected to assist in settling claims for workers who have lost their jobs.
