Luke Beveridge criticizes Collingwood's Marvel Stadium training access

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has criticized the decision to allow Collingwood to train at Marvel Stadium, describing the situation as ‘hilarious’. The move comes after Collingwood faced issues using their own training base due to heavy rainfall, leading them to secure access to the Docklands venue.

Beveridge noted that other tenant clubs at Marvel Stadium have frequently had requests to use the ground for training denied due to high traffic. While he admitted the Bulldogs did not request access this week, he expressed frustration that Collingwood was granted permission while other clubs are typically restricted to limited options, such as captain’s runs.

AFL figure Nick Riewoldt also commented on the situation, suggesting the advantages provided to Collingwood heading into the wildcard period are ‘extraordinary’ given the competitive implications for teams playing home finals.
