Luke Bracey Talks Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie Reboot

Actor Luke Bracey, who portrays Charles “Pa” Ingalls in Netflix’s reboot of *Little House on the Prairie*, told the Associated Press he arrived on set “blissfully ignorant” of the original series’ cultural weight. He said the lack of pre‑conceptions gave him freedom to shape the character without a rigid blueprint, while still preparing through physical immersion—growing a beard in ten days and experiencing frontier weather conditions.

Bracey also explained on *Live With Kelly and Mark* that the reboot draws directly from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books, aiming to evoke the feeling readers had as children. He noted the main difference from the 1974‑1983 series is the tighter adherence to the source material, though the core theme of a family striving to be good remains unchanged.
