Luke Bryan discusses near rejection of hit song 'Drunk on You

Country singer Luke Bryan revealed on the Bobbycast that he nearly passed on his No. 1 hit, 'Drunk on You,' due to concerns over the lyric 'Girl, you make my speakers go boom boom.' Bryan expressed hesitation that the line was too cheesy, even considering backing away from the song entirely.

He decided to proceed after observing his crew and fans singing along to the demo during after-parties and Farm Tour shows. 'Drunk on You' was Bryan's first No. 1 hit that he did not co-write. The song was originally offered to Jason Aldean, who declined it because he felt it did not fit his musical style.
