Luke Fickell pushes Wisconsin Badgers to define football identity
Head coach Luke Fickell said the Wisconsin Badgers must translate a “tough, nasty and disciplined” philosophy into a consistent on‑field identity that shows up on film each Saturday. He emphasized that identity is needed for success as the program moves toward the 2026 season.
At spring practice, three former highly‑rated recruits were highlighted as needing a strong performance in fall camp to earn playing time: wide receiver Malachi Coleman, a 6‑foot‑5, 205‑pound former four‑star prospect; cornerback Cai Bates, a top‑125 recruit from Florida; and others competing for roster spots. Their development will be critical as the Badgers seek to solidify the new identity on the field.
