Luke Humphries wins 2026 World Grand Prix after comeback victory

Luke Humphries won the 2026 World Grand Prix title at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, completing a dramatic comeback against Gerwyn Price. After falling behind 3-0 in the final, Humphries won six of the next seven sets to secure a 6-4 victory.

Price had started the match with exceptional form, including a first set average of 132.62, the highest in the tournament's history. However, Humphries' resilience allowed him to reclaim momentum, earning his second World Grand Prix title and a £150,000 prize. This victory also makes Humphries the first player in the history of the tournament to reach four consecutive finals.

Following the win, Humphries noted he would seek medical advice regarding a skin irritation on his forehead, which he initially believed was an allergic reaction to makeup used during a television filming. The win also restores his position as a top contender in the PDC rankings.
