Luke Littler advances in Amsterdam amid threats of Netherlands boycott
The 2026 World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam have reached the quarter-final stage, marked by both high-stakes competition and significant tension between players and spectators. Luke Littler, the world number one, secured a dramatic 10-9 victory over Nathan Aspinall in a deciding leg to advance to the last eight. Littler is currently pursuing a historic clean sweep of all major PDC events in 2026.
However, the tournament has been overshadowed by hostility from the crowd toward Littler. Following consistent booing and whistling during his matches against Danny Noppert and Aspinall, Littler has threatened to boycott future Euro Tour events in the Netherlands. He stated, “If the Dutch stay like this, then I’m not going to do any Euro tours over there. There’s just no point in me travelling, wasting my time while I’m getting booed.”
Other notable results include Gerwyn Price advancing to the semi-finals after defeating Jonny Clayton 11-7, and Ross Smith reaching the final stage after an 11-8 win over Gian van Veen. The tournament features an increased prize pool of £450,000, with £100,000 awarded to the winner.
