Luke Littler withdraws from Maastricht EuroTour following crowd hostility

Two-time darts world champion Luke Littler has withdrawn from the EuroTour event in Maastricht, scheduled for October 16–18, following hostile treatment from spectators. The 19-year-old English player reported facing constant booing and whistling during his matches against Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall at the World Series Finals in Amsterdam.

Littler stated that he has no desire to waste time traveling to tournaments where he is met with such hostility, noting that he simply wants to play darts and interact with fans. In addition to the potential boycott of Dutch tournaments, Littler has previously expressed reluctance to play in Germany due to similar crowd behavior, though he is still expected to participate in the European Championship in Dortmund next month.

Following his 10-4 loss to Jonny Clayton, discussions have emerged among professionals regarding how players should manage aggressive crowds. Some peers suggested adopting a more positive approach to avoid escalating tension, while Littler has expressed significant frustration with the atmosphere in the Netherlands.
