Luken Beitia shows potential as Real Sociedad starting central defender

Luken Beitia, the 22-year-old defender for Real Sociedad, has demonstrated the potential to become a starting central defender following strong performances in high-pressure matches.

Beitia started in the season opener at the Bernabéu against Real Madrid and recently played a significant role in the 3-2 victory against Valencia at Mestalla. Despite recording an own goal in the 84th minute during the Valencia match, his overall performance was noted for his composure, ability to request the ball under pressure, and physical presence in aerial duels.

Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo has shown increasing trust in the player by selecting him over established options like Igor Zubeldia and Jon Pacheco. While analysts note he still needs to refine his reading of crosses, his attitude and personality have been highlighted as key assets.
