Lula and Áurea Carolina urge voters against strategic voting for Aécio Neves

During a campaign rally in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Senate candidate Áurea Carolina (PSOL) urged supporters to prevent 'strategic voting' (voto útil) for former governor Aécio Neves (PSDB).

Carolina and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva advocated for a voting bloc consisting of Marília Campos and Carolina to secure Senate seats. President Lula criticized Neves, citing his past treatment of former President Dilma Rousseff, and emphasized the need for Senate allies to support his administration.

The election dynamics are complicated by the fact that each state elects two senators. With Aécio Neves entering the race late in August, left-wing voters have debated whether to cast strategic votes for him to prevent more right-wing candidates from winning.
