Lula begins multi-state campaign tour for reelection

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has launched a campaign tour across three Brazilian states as part of his reelection bid for the Workers' Party (PT). The tour, which runs from Thursday to Saturday, includes stops in Rio Grande do Norte, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro to support allied candidates.

In Rio Grande do Norte, the President will meet with Governor Fátima Bezerra and participate in an event with Cadu Xavier, Samanda Alves, and Rafael Motta. The itinerary continues to Belo Horizonte to support Patrus Ananias and Marília Campos, before concluding in Rio de Janeiro at the Moça Bonita Stadium alongside Eduardo Paes, Benedita da Silva, and Pedro Paulo.

Lula, running with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, is centering his campaign on social agendas, the expansion of social policies, and the fight against poverty and hunger. This campaign cycle is noted as being more streamlined than his 2022 run to allow for the management of his institutional presidential duties.
