Lula campaign accuses Bolsonaro family of interfering with Federal Police

During an electoral broadcast focused on public security, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva accused the Bolsonaro family of attempting to interfere with the Federal Police. The campaign highlighted a 2020 recording of former President Jair Bolsonaro suggesting the replacement of a minister to protect his son, Flávio Bolsonaro, from investigations. Lula contrasted this by stating that under his administration, the Federal Police has the freedom to investigate everyone without protection.

Legal experts have raised concerns regarding the 'Caso Master' investigations currently before the Supreme Federal Court. Constitutional law specialist Vera Chemim warned against repeating procedural errors seen during Operation Lava Jato, which led to the annulment of judicial acts and subsequent impunity for corrupt politicians.

The legal scrutiny involves connections between investigations led by Minister Flávio Dino regarding the use of public funds for a biopic about Jair Bolsonaro, and investigations led by Minister André Mendonça involving alleged financing by banker Daniel Vorcaro within the scope of the Master case.
