Lula campaign shifts strategy to target undecided voters
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s reelection campaign has announced a new strategy aimed at capturing the undecided electorate, which internal polls suggest accounts for 40% of voters. The plan involves intensifying travel to key electoral states, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, and Minas Gerais, while decentralizing campaign efforts by appointing coordinators in every Brazilian municipality to conduct door-to-door outreach.
The campaign also seeks to strengthen its presence in the North region, specifically in Roraima and Rondônia, with the goal of significantly increasing vote margins compared to 2022. Additionally, the campaign intends to utilize grassroots mobilization to monitor elections and encourage reports of vote-buying through the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) hotline.
Concurrently, criticisms have been leveled against Grupo Globo and the Marinho family, alleging that the media conglomerate intervenes in the democratic process to favor right-wing political interests and neoliberal economic policies that align with their own economic objectives.
