Brazil Federal Police extend investigations into Lulinha and Roberta Luchsinger

The Brazilian Federal Police (PF) have requested an extension of two ongoing investigations involving Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, and lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger. The inquiries are examining suspected influence peddling and corruption related to government contracts and the National Social Security Institute (INSS).

To deepen the probe, the PF has requested technical reports regarding Lulinha’s domestic and international travel, the origin of his airfare payments, and his corporate links and bank movements. Investigators also aim to cross-reference travel data to determine how often Luchsinger accompanied him. A third investigation involving the pair is currently under the rapporteur Flávio Dino at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), while André Mendonça oversees the other two.

Luchsinger has stated her intention to seek a plea bargain agreement, claiming Lulinha met with government ministers on numerous occasions to discuss public policy, including medicinal cannabis regulations. Lulinha’s defense has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that his contacts with administration members were strictly social and that the investigation is politically motivated due to his status as the president's son. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has denied having any connection or interlocution with Luchsinger.
