Lula launches reelection campaign as Marina Silva faces intimidation in São Paulo FAST-MOVING

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva officially launched his reelection campaign with a large-scale event in São Bernardo do Campo, drawing approximately 40,000 people. The event, held at the Vila Euclides Stadium, featured support from various political groups, including the CTB, which emphasized the importance of defending workers' rights and democracy.

In São Paulo, Fernando Haddad held his first campaign walk through the city center, accompanied by Senate candidates Simone Tebet and Marina Silva. During the event, Marina Silva was reportedly targeted by an unidentified man who approached her with aggressive gestures and verbal hostility. Haddad characterized the incident as an act of intimidation by the far-right.

During the walk, Haddad and the Senate candidates also addressed public security and women's rights. Haddad proposed expanding the operating hours of specialized police stations for women, while Simone Tebet criticized the closure of such stations in the interior of São Paulo. Meanwhile, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas addressed health and security, proposing a crackdown on online betting and emphasizing the need for digital health initiatives and increased support for municipal guards.
