Lula intensifies reelection campaign amid public protests

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is intensifying his reelection campaign efforts through new media strategies and public appearances. In Brasília, the president recorded campaign videos at his headquarters in Lago Sul. His campaign has launched televised and radio advertisements that utilize a confrontational tone, specifically targeting Senator Flávio Bolsonaro by referencing past allegations involving money laundering and ties to militias.

During a recent rally in Belo Horizonte, Lula advocated for the end of the 6x1 work week and criticized foreign interference in Brazilian elections. The campaign has also secured significant airtime on radio and television following a draw by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), granting Lula 5 minutes and 31 seconds per block.

Amidst these campaign activities, Lula faced public protests during the Festa do Peão de Barretos in São Paulo. On two separate occasions during the event, segments of the audience directed insults and jeers at the president during musical performances. These incidents highlight the ongoing political polarization within the country during the election cycle.
