Sardinia allocates 4.4 million euros for urban regeneration near Einstein Telescope site
Francesco Spanedda, the regional assessor for local authorities, finance, and urban planning, conducted a site visit in Lula to oversee urban regeneration projects. These initiatives are linked to the candidacy of Sos Enattos to host the Einstein Telescope.
A total of 4.4 million euros has been allocated to the municipalities of Lula, Bitti, Onanì, and Orune, with each receiving up to 1.1 million euros. The funds are intended for the recovery of public buildings and spaces, the creation of green infrastructure, and improvements to urban safety, accessibility, and quality.
Spanedda emphasized that the regeneration is a strategic necessity for central Sardinia to make local centers more attractive and resilient while awaiting the potential arrival of the Einstein Telescope.
