Lululemon founder Chip Wilson files for divorce

Lululemon founder Chip Wilson is divorcing his wife of 20 years, Shannon “Summer” Wilson, reportedly without a prenuptial agreement in place. The billionaire, whose net worth is estimated at $6.1 billion, and his wife are involved in ongoing family litigation in the British Columbia Supreme Court. The court files, which were first filed in April, are currently sealed.

The couple, who married in 2002, were longtime business collaborators. Shannon Wilson was one of the athleisure brand’s first employees and served as its founding lead designer. Chip Wilson has credited her with a significant role in developing the company into an $11 billion enterprise. Although both left Lululemon more than a decade ago, Chip Wilson remains a major shareholder, holding an 8.6% stake valued at approximately $1 billion.
