lululemon opens first global flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo

Canadian athletic wear brand lululemon has opened its first global flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo. The two-story facility covers approximately 1,220 square meters and features the brand’s full lineup of women’s, men’s, and accessory products.

The store is designed around the themes of movement, connection, and sensory engagement. It serves as a community hub, featuring a local community map of the Harajuku and Jingumae areas, including nearby yoga studios and running stations. The space also showcases art installations inspired by Meiji Jingu, Yoyogi Park, and Harajuku, created in collaboration with Japanese artists.

To mark the opening, lululemon introduced Japan-first personalization services, including embossing for belt bags and engraving for sports bottles. An opening event featured guests including model Kōki, and actors Sho Kasamatsu and Keisuke Asano, who discussed their fitness routines and the brand's role in their active lifestyles.
