Lululemon reports Q1 revenue beat despite weak future guidance

Lululemon Athletica reported first-quarter revenues of $2.47 billion, a 4.3% year-on-year increase that exceeded analyst expectations by 1.7%. However, the company's full-year and next-quarter earnings per share (EPS) guidance fell significantly short of market anticipations, leading to a decline in stock value.

In the broader apparel retail sector, performance was mixed. Tilly's emerged as a top performer with revenues of $124.7 million, up 15.9% year-on-year, and provided strong guidance. Conversely, Zumiez reported revenues of $193.3 million, meeting expectations, but saw its stock drop following weak future guidance. American Eagle Outfitters was also noted among the sector's major players during the Q1 earnings season.
