LUMA Energy announces scheduled power outages across Puerto Rico

LUMA Energy has scheduled several power outages across various municipalities in Puerto Rico to facilitate maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure improvements.

On Friday, October 23, work including vegetation removal, installation of automated devices, and feeder relocation will affect sectors in Aibonito, Bayamón, Caguas, Guánica, Gurabo, and Patillas. Some outages are expected to last up to 12 hours.

Additionally, a significant outage is scheduled for Monday, October 26, in parts of Old San Juan. Work at the Covadonga substation will require power to be cut between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. This project, which was rescheduled at the request of local business owners to minimize economic impact, involves upgrading decades-old infrastructure to improve service resilience and prepare for future system expansions.
