Lumajang sees tourism growth and Asian Games medal success
Lumajang Regency in East Java has seen significant activity in both tourism and sports. Between January and September 2026, the region recorded 113,642 international tourist arrivals. The Tumpak Sewu waterfall was the primary driver of this growth, accounting for 96,334 visits, or approximately 84.8 percent of the total international visitors. Other destinations included Kapas Biru, Kapas Biru Waterfall, B29, and Ranu Regulo.
In sports, athletes from Lumajang were honored with a parade through city streets following their performance at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Feri Yudoyono secured a bronze medal in men’s cross-country mountain biking, while Saiful Rizal earned two medals in sepak takraw: a silver and a bronze in the men’s quadrant and team categories.
