Lumen expands cloud networking access to 10M U.S. business locations

Lumen Technologies has expanded access to its Multi-Cloud Gateway service, allowing more than 10 million U.S. business locations to connect to private, high-performance cloud networking. This expansion extends the service beyond Lumen’s own fiber footprint, enabling third-party connected locations to utilize the same cloud networking environment as Lumen on-net sites. The service aims to simplify multi-cloud connectivity, helping enterprises manage routing policies and segmentation controls through a consistent model to support AI workloads and critical data transfers.

Other regional fiber developments in the United States include NM Fiber Network utilizing Fujitsu’s 1Finity technology to expand its middle-mile network and integrate regional providers. In New York, Empire Fiber has expanded last-mile services to approximately 700 additional homes and businesses in the Ithaca region. Additionally, Race Communications is entering the Dinuba, California, market as part of a planned $200 million expansion across the state in 2025.
