Lumen Technologies launches on-demand Intelligent Internet for enterprises

Lumen Technologies has launched Lumen Intelligent Internet, a new enterprise connectivity model designed to provide cloud-like agility. The service allows businesses to purchase connectivity in minutes and scale bandwidth up or down in response to changing AI, cloud, and general business requirements.

This shift addresses challenges identified by IDC research, which noted that 37% of enterprises experienced bandwidth growth exceeding 50% year-over-year, while 29% struggled to align networks with AI workloads. Unlike traditional fixed-capacity models that require long-term forecasting, this new offering enables real-time adjustments through digital management via Lumen Connect or APIs.

The service includes term-based pricing for predictable monthly costs, DDoS Essentials for protection against large-scale attacks, and Lumen Defender to block known threats. Early adopters of the technology include iVision, SABIS, Skyway Studios, and the New York Yankees.
