Luna Marcelino performs live tattoo art to explore identity

Artist Luna Marcelino is presenting a new version of her performance piece, ‘lunaLOVESTORY: O Astronauta’, in Embu das Artes. The performance involves the artist being tattooed on stage to explore themes of love, memory, and identity.

Marcelino, a 27-year-old artist from Santo André, uses the act of tattooing to reflect on self-esteem, affection for trans women, and representation. The project, which originated during her studies at Unesp, seeks to rewrite the image of trans women through moments of care and humanity rather than violence. The upcoming presentation features an angel design and includes audio production and musical accompaniment.
