Lund and Trosa municipalities recognized for efficient building processes

Swedish municipalities Lund and Trosa have been recognized for their efficiency in construction and urban planning processes according to the National Lead Time Index.

Lund Municipality has been named the winner in the large municipality category. The award highlights the city's long-term efforts to maintain efficient planning and building processes, high service levels, and strong dialogue with the real estate industry. Lund also secured the highest score in the production rate sub-index for the second consecutive year, averaging 9.3 housing starts per 1,000 inhabitants between 2018 and 2025.

Trosa Municipality has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year for its effective lead times in the small municipality category. Trosa's approach emphasizes legal certainty and rapid processing of detailed plans and building permits, which officials note is essential for smaller municipalities to support local businesses and residents.
