Lund municipal parking company faces corruption investigation

Lunds Kommunala Parkerings AB (LKP) is undergoing an investigation by PWC following allegations of corruption and financial misconduct involving municipal funds. The company has terminated the employment of CEO Paul Myllenberg with immediate effect, noting that the board no longer has confidence in his leadership due to serious deficiencies.

Investigations have also targeted other executives. Carina Pihlwret, HR and Staff Manager, is under scrutiny for recruiting her daughter’s partner, Jonas Söderholm, to a high-level position within the company. Söderholm was previously convicted of serious tax crimes and fraud in 2007.

Furthermore, a secret recording has implicated Business Manager Armin Memic in irregular procurement processes. The recording suggests Memic bypassed official tender procedures for a 1.5 million SEK camera purchase, instead instructing a technology provider to send quotes to him privately to manage the deal personally. There are also allegations that Memic and another manager engaged in million-kronor transactions with personal acquaintances using municipal funds.
