Lundin Gold reports record high-grade gold drilling in Ecuador
Lundin Gold has reported significant high-grade drilling results at its Fruta del Norte property in southeastern Ecuador. Exploration at the Bonza Sur deposit yielded a record gold grade of 1,035.60 grams per tonne in a 60-centimeter interval within hole BLP-2026-553.
In addition to the record results at Bonza Sur, the company announced the discovery of the Quebrada Dorada vein system. This new find extends the continuous gold-mineralized trend within the concession area to more than eight kilometers. Initial drilling at Quebrada Dorada, specifically in hole CHT-2026-495, returned 13.05 meters of 6.53 grams of gold per tonne.
These exploration successes are intended to support the potential extension of the mine’s current 12-year operating life by expanding resources and converting inferred resources to indicated. The Fruta del Norte operation is noted for being among the highest-grade operating gold mines globally.
