Lung cancer symptoms to monitor in the morning

Morning symptoms can be critical indicators of underlying health issues, particularly lung cancer, due to changes in temperature, movement, and hydration levels upon waking.

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), chest pain is a common clinical manifestation, appearing in approximately 20% to 40% of lung cancer patients as the disease progresses. In early stages, this may present as an unexplained sensation of pressure or discomfort in the chest. This pain can intensify in the morning or during physical activity, deep breathing, or coughing, often occurring even without strenuous exertion or stress.

Other significant warning signs include persistent shortness of breath and prolonged hoarseness, which are frequently noted in data from the National Cancer Institute.
