Lung Cu implements agricultural crop diversification

In the Lung Cu highland region, local authorities are implementing a strategic shift in agricultural production to improve livelihoods and increase economic value. By moving away from fragmented, spontaneous farming, the commune is focusing on crops suited to the local climate and soil that have strong market demand.

Key developments include the large-scale cultivation of ginger, which covers nearly 180 hectares with over 360 participating households. Additionally, specialty Khau Mang rice has been introduced in the Ma Le and Tac Tang villages, with approximately 10 hectares currently in production. To ensure success, local agricultural extension officers are providing direct technical guidance to farmers on soil preparation, seed treatment, and biological safety practices.
