Luperón begins RD$355M sanitary sewage expansion project
The Dominican government has commenced work on the expansion of the sanitary sewage system in the municipality of Luperón, Puerto Plata. The project involves an investment of approximately RD$355 million and the installation of 21 kilometers of new piping.
Led by Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza and the Executive Director of the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewers (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud Bisonó, the initiative aims to protect the local natural environment and support regional growth. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months and is projected to benefit over 9,000 residents and more than 10,000 annual visitors by 2056.
Beneficiary sectors include La Marina, Los Multis, El Cementerio, La Yola, Las Flores, Los Maestros, La Ensenada, Playa Grande, Puerto Blanco, La Entrada, and Los Pescadores. Officials noted that the infrastructure improvements will also facilitate subsequent road repairs in the area.
