Lupillo Rivera and José Joel return to Top Chef VIP 5

Lupillo Rivera and José Joel have returned to the competition of ‘Top Chef VIP 5’ following a sudden departure and a repechage process. Rivera, who had recently resigned from the reality show, cited feelings of betrayal and media persecution as his reasons for leaving. He expressed anger toward Telemundo, claiming the network used his private life to generate gossip and false narratives regarding his personal relationships.

Despite his recent statements regarding a lack of respect from the production, Rivera was selected to rejoin the competition by the judges based on his technical skills. José Joel was reinstated after being chosen by his fellow contestants, who noted the quality of his cooking. The return of both participants follows a period of tension involving rumors about Rivera’s personal life and his previous decision to walk away from the program.
