Lurdes Gloria Manuel leads Czech athletics prospects at European Championships

Lurdes Gloria Manuel enters the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham as a top contender for the 400m event. The 21-year-old, a former junior world champion, has demonstrated exceptional form this season, running under 50 seconds four times and setting a personal best of 49.37 seconds. She currently ranks as the second-fastest European in the discipline this season, trailing only Norway's Henriette Jæger.
