Luís Mussi, former Paraná Secretary, dies in traffic accident

Luís Guilherme Gomes Mussi, a prominent businessman and former Secretary of State for Paraná, died on Thursday night following a serious traffic accident in Araucária, in the Curitiba metropolitan area.

Mussi, 72, was driving a pickup truck when his vehicle was struck by a truck carrying wood and containers at the intersection of the PR-423 highway and Avenida Independência. Although emergency teams provided assistance at the scene, he passed away while being transported to the hospital.

A significant figure in Paraná's political and media landscape, Mussi served as the Secretary of Industry, Commerce, and Mercosul Affairs during the administration of Governor Roberto Requião. He also held leadership roles in various communication companies and served as the second substitute for Requião in the 2010 Senate election.

Mussi was the father-in-law of Alexandre Curi, the current President of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná. Curi expressed deep grief over the sudden loss in a public statement.
