Luís Neves attends parliamentary hearing and visits Oeiras security projects
Portuguese Minister of Internal Administration Luís Neves recently participated in two distinct public engagements. During a parliamentary hearing before the Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Liberties, and Guarantees, political commentators noted a lack of incisive questioning from various parties, including Chega, PSD, and CDS, despite the minister facing several controversial issues. Only Rui Rocha was noted for asking direct questions that the minister struggled to answer.
Separately, Minister Neves visited Oeiras to observe social and security projects under the Local Security Contracts (CLS) framework. Accompanied by Mayor Isaltino Morais, the visit included the Boxing Spirit school and discussions regarding new infrastructure. The municipality announced plans to build 66 apartments for relocated police officers and a new police station in Carnaxide, representing a 10-million-euro investment. The visit also included a review of potential new facilities for the National Civil Protection Authority.
