Luís Soler announces Aeroposta documentary using AI

Filmmaker and visual artist Luís Soler has announced a new documentary titled ‘Siguiendo la ruta de la Aeroposta, 10 años después’. The production utilizes artificial intelligence, developed in collaboration with Daniel García, to recreate historical scenes, including a major aviation tragedy off the coast of Tierra del Fuego.

The documentary explores the history of Aeroposta, the pioneering aviation company that connected Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego with the rest of the world. Soler’s research, which spanned 15 years and included travels to Africa, Europe, Brazil, and Uruguay, aims to recover the social history of how these flights transported essential items such as medicine, mail, and books, helping to end the isolation of the region.

The presentation will take place this Wednesday at 17:30 at the Museo Municipal ‘Virginia Choquintel’ in Río Grande. The event will be supported by the Centro de Antiguos Pobladores and broadcast live by Canal 13.
