Luís Tralhão leaves Torreense coaching role

Torreense has officially announced that head coach Luís Tralhão is leaving the club by mutual agreement. The 48-year-old manager, who previously worked with Benfica's youth academy, joined the Torres Vedras-based club during the 2024/25 season to lead the under-23 team.

Tralhão took over the senior squad mid-way through the previous season, leading the team to a historic and unprecedented Taça de Portugal title after defeating Sporting 2-1 in extra time. This achievement made Torreense the first second-tier team to win the trophy and secured their first-ever qualification for European competition.

In the current season, the club experienced a mixed run of results, including a victory against Lillestrom in the Europa League followed by losses to Sunderland and Ferencvaros. In the II Liga, the team currently sits in 13th place with nine points after eight matches. The club expressed gratitude for Tralhão's professionalism and dedication. João Nuno, formerly of Estrela da Amadora, is reported as the successor.
