Luísa Sonza to headline Rock in Rio and join SP2B cultural panels

Brazilian pop star Luísa Sonza will perform at Rock in Rio on 7 September, describing the concert as the most important show of her career. The set will feature Bossa Nova founder Roberto Menescal and place her alongside legends Gilberto Gil and Elton John on the main stage.

Earlier in August, Sonza participated in the SP2B conference in São Paulo, speaking on a panel about the economic impact of the Virada Cultural festival. The event also included discussions on creativity in business with Daniel Lamarre, executive vice‑president of Cirque du Soleil, and sessions on women’s entrepreneurship and fashion industry challenges.

Both appearances highlight Sonza’s expanding role in Brazil’s cultural and creative sectors, linking music performance with broader discussions on arts, innovation and economic development.
